- Wooden Or Plastic Model Of A Boat
by Victor Epand. Many years ago Sterling had a wooden kit of the USS Missouri in a fairly large scale. Unfortunately Estes bought the assets of Sterling and the Missouri is not currently available. I hate to think what one might run on EBay. About the only option today would be a plastic model and about the biggest is 1/350th. Tamiya has a good kit, but if you want wood you will pretty much be out of luck.

- Mastering the Art of Building Model Airplane - Part One
by Dale Smith. After a lifetime of building and designing model airplanes, I could be considered an expert on the subject. But, as dear old dad was prone to say, an expert is just an extra spurt away from home. Well, I kinda think of the Internet as my home away from home, so I will just establish my expertness and take it from there.
I don't even remember when my model making actually started but I know it at... products, articles, news
- Don't Screw It, Bond It
by Terry Buddell. It may not seem obvious at first but one of the fastest ways to induce terrible (and indeed terminal) damage is to place screws (of any type material or size) into the hull or deck of your boat. This is extremely dangerous. The materials should be something that will disintegrate if it impacts something. Paper, balsawood or thin plastics.
I also don't think attaching motors to your RC truck would do much if anything, but ... products, articles, news
- A Basic Model Aircraft Workshop
by Sandra Robinson. These days many beginners enter the hobby with a ARTF(almost ready to fly) model, they are often reluctant to build there first model airplane, thinking the building will be difficult, the tools complex and they will need a large area to set up a workshop and will need to invest a large sum of money.
Nothing could be further from the truth, there are advanced modelers who have devoted entire roo... products, articles, news
- The Nuts And Bolts Of A Survey
by Terry Buddell. Many people I have spoken to in the past are under the wrong impression that having a survey on a boat is simply a fast-track method of getting insurance cover easily or simply having a "quick look round to see if she's ok". I can assure you that this is not only a bad attitude but a short cut to misery in the long run. Marine surveying is a complex business and there will probably be many face... products, articles, news
